Words of Inspiration

One quote that really caught my eye was one by Ruby Bridges, who is famous for being one of the first black students to attend an elementry school in America. The qoute is:
We keep racism alive.
We pass it on to our children.
We owe it to owe our children to help them keep their clean start.

What this means to me is that children are born wih pure and innocent hearts. They learn from the world around them so if they grow up around racism then thats what they learn. So its up to us to make sure they grow up in a clean enviornment....free of racism.

2008 Election

This year is going to be extremly exciting for me. Why? Well becuse first of all, Im graduating from high school in May and then a month later I will be turning 18!!! Woot! This means I will be able to vote in the 2008 Presidential election. I think it is very important for young people to be involved in things like this because it is part of our future and we should have a say in it. I really like Borac Obama (however u spell his name) but personally I think that there is someone else who is better suited for the job. She is caring, intelligent, courageous, strong, and optomistic.....and no I'm not talking about Hilary (she's great too though.) I'm talking about my mom, the reason why I'm living right now! She should run and win the election because she is like no one else I know. She's conerned about our enviorment and the well being of the whole world, not just America. She believes that no one should be living in poverty and all nations should be at peace with eachother. She would create a better health care system and a fair government. One that doesnt start wars just to get oil from other countries. One that doesnt ignore cities who go through natural disaters leaving thousands with out a home. One that doesnt say one thing than do another. I think she should be President but until I convince her to run...I'll just vote for Obama this year.
